Privacy policy

LiveCal is a suite of calendar-linked tools: self-updating event tracking, live wind and surf conditions, shareable booking and availability pages, and widgets you can embed on your own site. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect across all of those, why, who we share it with, and how to get it removed. It’s meant to be readable rather than exhaustive — write to support@livecal.ai with any question.

Short version: we only collect what we need to make the thing you asked for work. We don’t run ads, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t load third-party tracking or advertising scripts.

What we collect

• Your account. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, name, and profile picture with us. We store these so we can recognize you across visits.
• Permission to manage your Google Calendar.When you track an event, you grant LiveCal Google’s calendar permission. We use it only for event tracking:
  • Add and update the events you track. We create the events you choose to track, keep their time, status, and details current, and remove them when you stop tracking.
  • Keep them organized.We create a dedicated “LiveCal” calendar so your tracked events stay separate from your personal ones.
  We do notread the contents of your existing calendar events, your free/busy schedule, your contacts, email, Drive, or any other Google service. (LiveCal reads only the events it created and your calendar’s time-zone setting, so events show at the right time.) We never use your calendar data for advertising, and we never sell it. Our booking & availability pages don’t use this permission at all — they read the open times from a public Google booking link you provide.
• What you ask us to do. The search queries and tracking requests you make, the events we build from them, the spots and conditions you follow for wingfoil/surf, and the settings for any booking page or widget you create.
• A log of what we changed. When we create, update, or remove an event on your calendar, we record what changed and when, so you can see exactly what LiveCal did on your behalf.
• Basic technical data.Like almost every website, our hosting providers keep standard request logs — things like IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — to keep the service running, fast, and secure. We use a single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in; we don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

People who view your booking pages and widgets

When someone opens a booking/availability page you’ve shared or a widget you’ve embedded, we show your available times in the visitor’s time zone. Visitors don’t sign in, and we don’t build a profile of them — beyond the standard technical logs described above, just viewing a page doesn’t require any personal information from them.

How we use it

• To do the specific thing you asked for — track an event, watch a wind window, or show availability from a booking link — and nothing else. We don’t write events you didn’t request, and we don’t use your calendar to build an advertising profile or sell insights about you.
• To keep the service working, secure, and free of abuse.
• To contact you about your account or important changes to the service (we don’t send marketing email).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your data. We do rely on a small number of trusted companies to run LiveCal, and we share only what each needs:

• Google— for sign-in and, with your permission, your calendar. Governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
• AI model providers(such as Anthropic) — to turn your plain-English requests into event details. Your query text is sent to the model provider to generate a result; see, for example, Anthropic’s privacy policy. We don’t let these providers use your data to advertise to you.
• Public data sources — to look up live facts (flight status, schedules, forecasts), we fetch from public websites and APIs. We send them the lookup, not your identity.
• Our hosting and database providers — the infrastructure companies that store our data and serve the site.
• Legal — if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.

How we keep it safe

Traffic to LiveCal is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to your calendar uses tokens you can revoke at any time. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect, restrict who can reach it, and delete what we no longer need.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, trackers, and settings while your account is active. Technical logs are short-lived. When you delete something — or your whole account — we remove it as described below.

Your choices and how to remove your data

• Stop tracking an item— click “Stop tracking” on any tracked event and LiveCal removes the calendar event it created.
• Take down a booking page or widget — delete it in your settings and it stops being shown.
• Disconnect Google — sign out, then revoke LiveCal at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once revoked, we can no longer reach your calendar.
• Delete your account — open My Settings → Delete my account. This immediately erases your user record, all trackers, booking pages, and history, and disconnects LiveCal from your Google account. It can’t be undone. Prefer to have us do it? Email support@livecal.ai and we’ll erase everything within 7 days. Either way, events already written to your calendar stay put — those are yours.
• See or correct your data— email us and we’ll help you access, fix, or export what we hold about you.

Children

LiveCal isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Where your data lives

LiveCal is operated from the United States, and the providers we use may process data there. If you use LiveCal from outside the US, you’re entrusting your information to a US-based service.

Google API compliance

LiveCal’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
